Limited Term Appointment in Art Therapy
Concordia University’s Department of Creative Arts Therapies in the Faculty of Fine Arts invites applications for one Limited Term Appointment (LTA) position in Art Therapy at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, effective August 1, 2020 to May 14, 2021.

Position Description
LTA positions are subject to budgetary approval and departmental or unit need. Individuals who hold a Limited Term Appointment may seek reappointment given continued funding and need as well as satisfactory job performance. Together, initial and subsequent LTA appointments may not exceed a total of 36 months or span more than three consecutive years.


During the initial appointment, the successful candidate will be expected to teach up to six courses at the graduate level, and up to seven courses per annum if reappointed. Other responsibilities will include clinical supervision, active involvement in committee and administrative work, as well as supervising up to five student research papers.

Applicants for this position should have an MA, PhD or ABD in Art Therapy. Professional certification as a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) is required. Applicants should have a record of excellence in teaching art therapy, extensive clinical experience as an art therapist working with adults, adolescents, children, and families, including proven expertise and skill in clinical supervision. Although classes are taught in English, fluency in French would be considered an asset, while holding a Quebec psychotherapist permit or provincial/state equivalent would be considered a strong asset.
