The School of Fine Arts invites applications for the following position, effective
September 1, 2019.

Studio: Material Practice: The successful candidate will teach fiber and textile art,
expanded field, and drawing courses within a BFA (Visual Arts) Degree Program.
The candidate will have an MFA degree or equivalent combination of professional
experience, training and education; and undergraduate teaching experience (preferably in
related areas). They will have a demonstrated record of research and creative-work in the
material practice field, which may include fibres, textiles, wearables, new materials and
technology, and/or traditional material practices such as weaving, basketry, and historical
processes. The applicant will bring the technological, theoretical, material, social,
cultural, and political nature of material practice into studio practice and teaching
pedagogy. They will have the ability to apply interdisciplinary approaches to instruction,
and the commitment to ensure safe studio practices for students.
