Two year Term Position: Choral Music

The Department of Music in the Faculty of Media, Art and Performance at the University of Regina,
invites applications for a two-year term position as a Lecturer in Choral Music. The position will
commence August 1, 2019 and end June 30, 2021. The successful candidate must hold a DMA or PhD in
Music and have a proven track record as a choral conductor and experience as an educator, preferably
at the post-secondary level.

The Department of Music, a flexible, responsive and dynamic team of performers and scholars,
contributes to the vibrant choral environments of school, church and community choirs in the City of
Regina and in the Province. Community engagement and collaboration are a hallmark of the
Department.

The successful candidate will: direct the University Concert Choir and the University Chamber Singers;
establish and maintain local and national recognition and networks as a choral conductor; and teach
courses in choral techniques, choral conducting and diction. Other teaching responsibilities may be
assigned according to the needs of the Department and the successful candidate’s range of teaching
experience and research interests. The successful candidate will be expected to recruit, advise, and
retain students and, potentially, supervise graduate students in choral conducting. The successful
candidate will also be expected to contribute to departmental and faculty service relative to the
position, and be an active member of our university and external community.
