The Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream position in Ethnomusicology. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will commence on July 1, 2019.

Applicants should have earned a PhD degree in Ethnomusicology or related area by time of appointment, or shortly thereafter. Seeking candidates who complement the existing strengths of the program and have demonstrated excellence in research and teaching, and compelling plans for graduate and undergraduate education.

Duties will include research and publication, undergraduate and graduate teaching, dissertation advising and university service. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
