Tenure-Track Position in Ceramics

Concordia University's Department of Studio Arts in the Faculty of Fine Arts invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Ceramics. The position will commence on August 1, 2019.

As the only dedicated university-level program in Quebec and one of only seven in Canada, Ceramics at Concordia University is a fast-growing and dynamic program that promotes the development of new approaches and interdisciplinary exploration.

The Department of Studio Arts seeks applicants with an established practice in ceramic sculpture or installation. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of both discipline-based and expanded approaches to ceramics, as well as a sound knowledge of art history and theory in ceramics and sculpture. The ideal candidate will have an advanced working knowledge of ceramic materials and processes, including expertise in hand-building and slip-casting techniques.

Applicants should hold a MFA degree (or equivalent), have a strong exhibition/research record, a minimum of two years college and/or university teaching experience and administrative experience.
