Tenure-Track Position in Fibres and Material Practices

Concordia University's Department of Studio Arts in the Faculty of Fine Arts invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Fibres and Material Practices. The position will commence on January 1, 2020.

The Fibres and Material Practices program enjoys an excellent international reputation with an undergraduate enrollment of 200 students per year and a robust graduate program. Grounded firmly in a contemporary art context, the program is the largest of its kind in Canada, offering a rigorous and comprehensive study of the technical, conceptual, and creative aspects of textile production and expanded material practices.

Concordia University seeks applicants with an established exhibition record and a strong foundation in the field of contemporary fibres. The successful candidate with be an artistic-researcher with demonstrated expertise required to teach at the graduate level and in one or more of the following technical structures, printing and dyeing processes, papermaking, electronic/interactive textiles, performance, and/or fibres-based sculptural practices.

Applicants should have a MFA degree (or equivalent), a minimum of two years teaching experience at the university level, and display a strong practice in artistic research, as well as a proven record of administrative and committee service.
