About Faculty of Fine Arts

York University’s Faculty of Fine Arts is the largest, most comprehensive program in Canada. There are more than 3,450 undergraduate and graduate students and 260 working faculty at the leading-edge of fine arts practice. Students work with leading artists and scholars who are active in their professional world, bringing real-world experience into the classroom. Fine Arts students at York study, create, rehearse, produce, preform and conduct research in state of the art facilities. Students have the opportunity to showcase their work. York’s location offers students the experience of the rich, diverse arts scene in Canada’s culture.

International Exchange

Fine Arts students at York have the opportunity to earn part of the degree credits abroad through an international exchange. Their partner institutions include: Monash University, Melbourne/Australia; Minzu University of China, Beijing; University of Chichester, University of Leeds, and Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK; Bauhaus-Universitat Weimar and Hochschule Darmstadt University of Applied Science, Germany; and the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem/Israel.
