Our Mission

1. To create a mechanism for the regular exchange of information on academic programs, enrolment figures, staffing needs and opportunities, capital and operating costs, teaching loads, tenure and promotion criteria, space standards, etc. It will be our special concern to identify problems and issues of programs in the fine Arts.

2. To develop a national voice for university programs in the Fine Arts. Our advice is of value, not only within the university community, but also to the public at large. We can be of assistance to federal and provincial governments, especially by discussion of cultural policy and to such bodies as the Canada council and the provincial arts councils.

3. To join with other organizations to be an advocate for the Fine and Performing Arts in Canada. Efforts to improve the standing of university programs should be commensurate with a responsibility to serve the greater community of artists in Canada.
